Go Linux!
Your first operating system was probably Windows. It came preinstalled, and at the time, it didn’t raise any red flags. However, as time passed, you started noticing that it doesn’t work the way you’d like. Even basic, everyday tasks take longer than they should, sometimes becoming outright challenges. If you use a Mac, the experience is much the same: as soon as you stray from the path set by macOS, you encounter obstacles, and the system actively resists. Whether it’s Microsoft or Apple, the truth is that the machine doesn’t really belong to you; you’re at the mercy of these companies’ ambitions, and when they bloat your system with features no one asked for or threaten to turn the OS into a subscription model, you have no say in the matter.
For years, big tech companies have profited from our lack of understanding about how these devices work, and we can no longer afford to be passive users. This is where GNU/Linux comes in—a free and open-source operating system that gives you the freedom to control and customise your computer without the omnipotent interference of corporate interests. My plan is to share my experiences and insights here to help make the transition to Linux easier for those who are also interested in privacy and digital autonomy; and if you have any specific questions, feel free to send me an email.
